As the CEO of Adani Cement, I lead Ambuja Cements and ACC, India's premier cement companies with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
With over two years of experience as the Chief Financial Officer for the Cement Business at Adani Group, I have directed financial strategy and governance to support organizational growth and profitability. Prior to this, I led high-impact M&A transactions as the Group Head – Mergers & Acquisitions at Adani Group, driving strategic expansion across diverse sectors.
It has been my passion from my early days in banking, where I had the privilege of financing large projects of national relevance. My skills include financial management, infrastructure finance, and growth strategies. I am passionate about creating value for stakeholders and contributing to the development of the cement industry
Born into a society where the birth of a girl child was often viewed with disappointment, Shobha Bhutada transformed adversity into achievement through determination, courage, and hard work. When she was born, her family had hoped for a son, but she went on to become a source of immense pride as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.
Indian Masterminds Originally from Maharashtra, she pursued higher education in Political Science and successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination, joining the IPS in the 2008 batch of the Gujarat cadre.
Throughout her career, she earned a reputation as a fearless and committed police officer. During high-profile investigations, including sensitive criminal cases, she continued to perform her duties despite receiving threats and intense pressure. Her courage and dedication made her an inspiration for many young women aspiring to join the civil services.
Beyond policing, Shobha Bhutada has been a strong advocate for women's empowerment. She has often emphasized that education should not only provide degrees and jobs but also the confidence and courage to stand up against injustice and abuse.
